TIM MONSEES: We think our job for our clients starts from the first day they walk in the door and we think that job continues long after hopefully we've been able to negotiate or try a case that put money in the client's pockets.

Well by the time people come to see us, oftentimes they're already beset with medical bills. Oftentimes they are already getting collection letters from hospitals, other creditors. We try to jump in immediately to try to keep those creditors at bay by working out with deals with creditors so that they'll forgo collection until hopefully the matter is resolved in the client's favor.

For many attorneys I think they feel that the job is finished once the money is obtained for the client. Unfortunately sometimes that's just the beginning of new issues for the client, which require getting them the right tax consultations they need, help with investing money, taking care of liens, what are called liens that may arise where they have to repay some portion of their money to medical providers. Those are things that are created through the circumstances of being injured that don't go away simply because you hand somebody a check.

I like to think that the follow through that we give to our clients says that certainly yes; it's a business for us, but that it says that these people are not just inventory to us, that they're real people with real problems.
