BRIAN AMICK: Client communication is extremely important. I believe it ranks right up there with good lawyering, good deposition skills and even good trial skills. If I have a client that's not prepared for their deposition because I have not informed them what to expect, or if I have a client that is not prepared for a trial when the time comes for serious settlement negotiations there is going to be some major issues and I'm not going to have a happy client. I hear from a lot of clients that have had attorneys previously that their biggest complaint is that the attorney will not return their phone call. We don't see that as a small issue, we see that as a big issue. And phone calls that come in to our attorneys, phone calls that come in to me, or phone calls that come in to my paralegal or my staff members will be returned as quickly as possible. In fact, it's, in an ideal situation, the phone call will be taken immediately. And I believe it's important from a communication standpoint that you have that line of communication with your client.
