The Kansas City-based law firm of Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick, P.C. is pleased to announce it has been awarded the Primerus Community Service Award in recognition of the many hours the firm has dedicated to community service.  The honor was presented at the recent National Conference of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms in Sandestin, Florida.

Primerus is an international organization of nearly 100 independent law firms that adhere to the highest ideals of practice including excellent work product, integrity, civility, community service, reasonable fees, and continuing education.  Each firm is top-rated by the leading legal-rating authority Martindale-Hubbell and is rigorously screened for membership.

Monsees, Miller was chosen by its peers in the Primerus Society through a majority vote.  "We are honored to receive this very distinguished, national award," says Timothy Monsees, Esq., attorney.  "We have a lot civic-minded, involved people here who want to give something back to the community.  There is an atmosphere here of acceptance and support for community service.  The firm is often a vehicle for that to happen." Monsees adds, "We're not involved in volunteer work for the visibility, but it is nice to be recognized for a lot of work that comes from the heart."

Over 30 legal, academic, youth, and human-service organizations and programs benefit from donations of time and money from the firm's seven attorneys.  Earlier this year, Monsees, Miller was honored by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association with the annual Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Project Award for the many hours of service to the Volunteer Attorney Project (VAP).  VAP provides free legal services to underprivileged individuals and families.

In 2004, Kirk R. Presley and Richard C. Miller were recognized for their efforts in working with the victims of September 11, 2001 through the Trial Lawyers Care Program.  That program provided free legal services to the individuals and families who were injured or lost family members and sought compensation under the September 11th  Victim Compensation Fund.

Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick, P.C. with offices in Kansas City and Springfield, is a plaintiff/personal injury law firm representing victims of wrongdoing.
