1. Serial Killer Kidnapped Murder-Victim's Baby: The biological daughter of a murder victim had been referred to a program for the assistance of single mothers operated by a serial murderer. Hospital social workers failed to conduct any background check of the program which would have disclosed that the program operator was on parole for unrelated charges at the time of the referral. Within a couple of days of being placed in the program, the young woman was murdered and her infant daughter was placed in a phony private-placement adoption with relatives of the serial murderer. Many years later, our client learned that she is the biological daughter of one of the killer's victims. The serial killer was convicted of Aggravated Kidnapping and Capital Murder in the death of our client's mother and was given the death penalty.
