Sharing in the philosophy of wanting to make a difference in the lives of clients by fighting for their rights, Kirk orginally became "Of Counsel" in July 2000.  Shortly thereafter he became named a shareholder in the newly expanded firm of Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick.

Kirk has experience with jury trials in the State and Federal Courts of Missouri and the states of Kansas and California.  He holds the largest medical malpractice verdict in the history of Boone County, Missouri which is the second largest every in that county.  His well-regarded reputation makes Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick truly one of the premier litigation firms in the Midwest.

Kirk was born in Wichita, Kansas.  He earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Drury College and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, attending and graduating from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Law School.  He has been admitted to the California Bar, as well.

Returning to teach at UMKC in 1986-1987, Kirk's belief in education is further evidenced by his commitment as a member of the Board of Directors of LEAP (Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance) since 1998.  His strong sense of giving back to the community is an integral part of Kirk's personal beliefs. 

Community Service Activities

  • Former President and Board Member of the Bacchus Foundation, a charitable foundation for the under 40 age group that benefits a different charity each year.
  • Trustee and Board of Directors for the LEAP Foundation, and elected LEAP Foundation Mardi Gras King for 2005 (Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance) which raises money to benefit Operation Breakthrough, a day care center for at risk children.
  • Trustee and Board of Directors of the UMKC Law Foundation - UMKC Law School alumni and fundraising branch.
  • Trustee and Board of Directors for the Drury University, Springfield, Missouri.
