Kana was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, where she graduated from Washburn University earning a double major in finance and management. She continued on at Washburn University and attended the School of Law . While attending Washburn University's School of Law , she was the individual recipient of the Irvine E. Ungerman Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice for distinguishing herself by providing highly competent representation to clients in a manner exemplifying the ideals of our profession.
Kana worked as a law clerk for Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick during law school, and rejoined the firm as an associate in April 2009.
Community Service Activities
2sday Productions - Board Member and Fundraising Coordinator
CASA - volunteered time to assist juveniles who have been abused and neglected
Animal foster parent - volunteered time to foster animals to support local animal shelters
Family Court - provided pro bono legal services to low-income individuals with domestic issues.
